This alternative image of the Statue of Liberty was pretty interesting to me. Depicting a small Asian girl dressed in a costume, it seems to be an embodiment of the “American dream.” Since the girl is Asian and not the standard image of a white man that has come to symbolize America, it conveys (as some would say the actual statue does) the promise that anyone can make it in America, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity.
