I live in a Northern English a Town, It is the 10th largest town in the UK. I have moved here from the neighbouring town to go attend this University. Also some of my family links are here. When I’m not at university I shop. What I encounter apart from many Starbucks (There are 7 and 1 where I used to live.) are the fact that there are not many American clothes shops or ‘high street’ shops. However 2 years ago there was a Hollister of I believe, California built in the centre Mall. It is built like a saloon and has a cinema screen of the Californian Sea at the back of the shop, it’s otherwise very dark. This type of layout I haven’t seen before and it is very cool! Otherwise the English and European shops I frequent are Topshop, HnM, River Island and Oasis. Hollister is most like HnM. I think the clothes are casual of good design and well put together. It’s good to have an American Store at the centre of the Fashion Mall. It’s unique and Stylish and it’s portraying a direct Aesthetic of America in the Saloon. The music headphones I got from there are very good. It would be nice to have a bar in there. But as far as ideas from America in my town go it’s one of the best.
